new search

This alliance includes stands dominated by various species of Chara and Tolypella that are characterized by calcium carbonate incrustations of their thallus and occurrence in calcium-rich water. In contrast to the alliance Nitellion flexilis, this alliance is more common in continental areas and in man-made habitats.
