This wet meadow type is dominated by the continental species Cirsium heterophyllum. It occurs in seepage areas in the montane belt of most mountain ranges of the Bohemian Massif, being most common in the Krkonoše, Jizerské hory, Šumava and Novohradské hory Mountains. Soils are acidic, with low calcium status.
